HAUTE À PORTER PRESENTS “PAAL ULAMA” IN NEW YORK
A New Perspective on Masculinity Through Fashion, Vulnerability, and Memory
NEW YORK, 2026
After more than a year of creative and conceptual development, Mexican fashion label HAUTE À PORTER arrives in New York with a milestone presentation: for the first time, the brand is unveiling a menswear collection.
Titled “PAAL ULAMA,” the collection examines masculinity through a lens rarely explored in fashion—one that makes room for fragility, emotional wounds, and the unresolved stories that can exist beneath the traditional image of the male figure.
PAAL ULAMA: A Collection About the Man Who Learned to Stay Silent
“PAAL ULAMA” begins with a central question: What happens when a child remains trapped inside the body of a man who never had the opportunity to heal?
The collection explores abandonment, guilt, emotional repression, and the wounds that can follow men throughout their lives. Rather than presenting vulnerability as weakness, HAUTE À PORTER approaches it as an essential part of understanding identity, behavior, and personal transformation.
The collection also reflects on gender-based violence from a complementary perspective. Its intention is not to diminish or redirect the ongoing conversation around violence against women, but rather to ask what stories, learned behaviors, and unresolved vulnerabilities may exist behind men who perpetrate violence.
For HAUTE À PORTER, prevention must also include emotional education: understanding what happens when boys grow up without the tools to process pain, communicate their emotions, or develop healthy ways of dealing with conflict—and when those unaddressed wounds follow them into adulthood.
The result is a reconsidered vision of masculinity: a man who does not need to conceal vulnerability in order to be strong; a man willing to acknowledge his past, question traditional masculine ideals, and take responsibility for what must change.

Memory, Texture, and Transformation
The pieces in “PAAL ULAMA” translate this narrative into contemporary menswear silhouettes in which structure and vulnerability coexist.
The collection explores volume, layering, proportion, and texture as visual expressions of protection, tension, exposure, and reconstruction. Garments become more than objects of dress; they serve as physical manifestations of memory, identity, and the male body.
The selection of materials and finishes reflects the design language of HAUTE À PORTER, which places an emphasis on experimentation, thoughtful material use, and the construction of garments with a distinct identity.
Each piece is conceived not simply as something to wear, but as part of a larger narrative—one that considers how clothing can communicate what the body remembers and what identity continues to carry.
New York: an unprecedented presentation
“PAAL ULAMA” will be presented at DOORS NYC, the independent fashion platform located in the heart of SoHo.
Known for bringing together fashion, art, beauty, and emerging international creative talent, DOORS NYC provides a platform for independent designers through retail, public relations, e-commerce, and marketing.
For HAUTE À PORTER, its arrival at DOORS NYC represents an important step in the brand’s international expansion. New York provides the setting for the label to introduce its first menswear collection while connecting its creative vision with buyers, stylists, editors, artists, and consumers engaged with independent fashion.
What Is DOORS NYC?
DOORS NYC is an independent fashion concept store and PR showroom located at 425 West Broadway in SoHo. Its curated selection brings together designers from more than 30 countries, combining established names with emerging talent.
The platform has highlighted brands including Juun.J, GCDS, Y/Project, Private Policy, PH5, Andersson Bell, and Ottolinger, while also incorporating contemporary art and a program of launches, presentations, exhibitions, and conversations.

According to DOORS, the platform has worked with more than 500 independent brands, offering designers services that extend beyond traditional retail, including showroom representation, e-commerce, marketing, and brand activations.
Its 2026 programming includes a pop-up dedicated to Latin American designers, as well as an initiative connected to New York Fashion Week.

Among the Mexican designers previously featured at DOORS is Tania Orellana, a Guadalajara-based label founded in 2020 whose work combines a futuristic aesthetic, sculptural forms, and responsibly sourced materials. The brand was introduced by DOORS as part of its SoHo selection.
The HAUTE À PORTER Perspective
HAUTE À PORTER approaches fashion as a vehicle for ideas, dialogue, and social reflection.
The Mexican label has developed projects centered on sustainability, inclusion, and social impact, using clothing and visual storytelling to address subjects that extend beyond fashion itself.
One of its most significant recent projects involved women who have experienced breast cancer, transforming their stories, bodies, and personal experiences into an artistic and awareness-driven narrative.
The project reflects a broader philosophy within the brand: garments can possess a strong aesthetic identity while simultaneously creating space for conversations about human experiences and social realities.
More Than a Year in the Making
“PAAL ULAMA” is the result of more than a year of creative and conceptual development.
Its New York presentation marks a new chapter for HAUTE À PORTER—the debut of the brand’s first menswear collection and a deliberate exploration of masculinity, emotional well-being, responsibility, and transformation through fashion.
With “PAAL ULAMA,” HAUTE À PORTER proposes that fashion does not have to exist solely in response to trends. It can also be a place to ask difficult questions.
The collection invites viewers to look beyond the armor of masculinity—to recognize the child a man once was, the wounds he may have carried into adulthood, and the possibility of building a more conscious and accountable form of masculinity.
